We do not see him and Alicia till 22 minutes into the episode. He, unfortunately, has got himself in a pickle. ![]() One cannot simply be prepared for this one (we sure weren’t)! WARNING – Major spoilers ahead! So…Sergio indeed does not have a plan B for himself.Īpparently, El Professor, for once in his life, actually has no plan. This is by far the show’s most stressful episode yet. Who will win – Sergio Marquina and his gang, the police, or Alicia Sierra? However, this next episode reveals that the series is now in for a dangerous round of Spicy UNO. Lisbon s character is clearly not fully exploited but she helped the gang and probably more in the next part now she is inside the bank and will be probably the next leader. It is a given that the first episode of the final season of Money Heist has put away the good old chess game. None of them did that except Berlin (and he was dying). She was willing to sacrifice herself to not betrayed the professor and the gang and saved them. She also know about the gas attack because she was inspector so she know the police s protocols a lot better than anybody in this gang. And she was able to list them all by heart.) She's the only one who could have known exactly what kind of vehicles the army were using and, more specifically, all the different numbers they were registered as. Without Lisbon's knowledge of the police tactics, they wouldn't have found a way to enter the bank in the first place (remember the pile of files Stockholm searched through to put the right number plates on the army vehicles that they used to sneak into the bank? They wouldn't have any of that without Lisbon. But instead, the writers used Raquel as the typical 'damsel in distress' character, Raquel had the potential to offer some real additions to the tactical preparation and execution for the gang, in counter to the full bore opposition presented by CNI. ![]() The writers did a poor job with Raquel's character in the Bank heist, and (by extension) a poor job with the Professor. Operating on her own would have gone against her character since she would be working against former friends and colleagues. There was no need for her to be an independent entity till the need arose. She is content to let him take the lead and she was there to support him. But since they are together they didn't know what to do with her since she was such a strong character in season 1&2. Interesting thought! I feel if the writers would have known that the show would be extended they wouldn't have reunited Professor and Raquel and they would have met again during the bank heist either as antagonists or lovers. (Since we see Raquel living free one year after the Mint heist, logically there should be no warrants outstanding for Raquel, and she should have been the 'inside Spain' operative at the start of the Bank heist, with the Professor sitting in a remote location in Portugal or (in a nod to Itziar) the Basque region of France, communicating to her through encrypted VOIP.) This would have provided effective "back-up" for the outside-of-the-bank operations. Logically, there is no reason for Raquel and the Professor to be in the same place, and at least one of them should have been outside of Spain. ![]() Perhaps this is characteristic of Spanish TV writer (a derivation from soap opera TV?). ![]() I find it disappointing that the writers choose to use strong female characters like Raquel and Nairobi the way that they do, while tolerating (and in some ways rewarding) obscenely bad behavior by male characters like Berlin and Palermo. (Since we see Raquel living free one year after the Mint heist, logically there should be no warrants outstanding for Raquel, and she should have been the 'inside Spain' operative at the start of the Bank heist, with the Professor sitting in a remote location in Portugal or (in a nod to Itziar) the Basque region of France, communicating to her through encrypted VOIP.) Raquel should have been an important, independent figure in the heist but so far, she has been only an adjunct to the Professor, and she's done little other than create rescue scenarios. I was disappointed, as I really liked her character and was looking forward to her participation. But instead, the writers used Raquel as the typical 'damsel in distress' character, who basically adds nothing but vulnerabilities.
